CIODAY 2021: GO LIVE!
Information technology has quickly become a vital part of the primary process of companies, governments and societies. Much more than a solution for individual challenges or opportunities, this dynamic synergy is about collaborating on a multitude of previously isolated IT components.
So products, services, processes and chain structures can be optimized. In conjunction they form the basis for smart industries, cities, ports, governments and forms of transport. In this new digital world, no IT component can be seen in isolation from others – both internally, across organizations or other boundaries.
CIOs are well aware of this. In their search for the balance between growth, optimization and adaptive capacity, the terms coherence and a holistic approach are often used. On IT, data, communication, the organization, customers, suppliers and chain partners – actually on the entire ecosystem in which one operates.
Today IT goes far beyond improving efficiency and delivering higher output. It is much more than a one-dimensional information supply. IT and data make it possible to operate in larger contexts, to create new economically and socially relevant products and services by stacking and extending solutions.
Practically speaking: CIOs will pay more attention than ever to their data architecture, standardization, cloud solutions, edge computing, digital unlocking of operational technology, and last but not least platform technology – to leverage and deliver as much IT as possible ‘as a service’. Go live to survive, to deliver and create value!
The intended cohesion also relates to other aspects: cross-functional, multi-disciplinary, diverse teams and boards. This means that in addition to the chief information officer (CIO), other C-level executives such as CDOs, CEOs, COOs, CMOs, CHROs and regulators are also involved.
Let’s GO LIVE in a new and challenging reality. See you in November!
