Can a top athlete’s Digital Biotwin Heart help transform businesses?

We all know digital twins are real-time, virtual representations or exact copies of the real world. In her keynote, Jessica Heres of TCS, takes it to the next level. She will refer to making a copy of American top athlete Des Linden’s heart. She took on the challenge of being the first athlete in the world to create such a virtual replica, her so-called Digital Biotwin Heart.

“This real-time digital representation of the heart allows the athlete’s team to use AI and run hundreds of simulations of the heart without straining her in reality”, states the TCS Innovation Manager. “This helps achieve optimal training under all circumstances imaginable. There is no safer way to push boundaries.”

Enhancing performance Digital twin technology is not only enhancing the performance of top athletes and advancing societal health, it also holds the key to transforming businesses. TCS is partnering with organizations to make these technological innovations accessible to more companies across various industries. Regarding the possibilities and impact of this technology Jessica Heres speaks of ‘creating a rehearsal of the future’. By creating virtual representations of physical assets, digital twins act as the central nervous system of organizations, delivering real-time insights that can influence decision-making, optimize operations and fuel innovation. Most importantly, they allow learning by testing different scenarios virtually, without the need to do so in the physical world or bear the consequences.
